Street of Clans
Creating a homegrown creative festival, celebrating age-old clan values of kinship and unity, uplifting the community through design

A passion project initiated by the OuterEdit team for DesignSingapore's District Activation for Singapore Design Week 2019. A 3-day event held along Bukit Pasoh Road, that we have affectionately termed "Street of Clans".
Clan Open Doors is conceptualised to use art and design installations to draw crowds into the clan houses, and allow new audience to interact with the heritage clan houses. Each installation is inspired by a clan value.

Talks and Workshops were conceptualised in line with the theme – spirited presentations regarding topics such as using heritage in fresh ways, invigorating family businesses as the second generation.
The festival identity is inspired by vintage packaging, treated with wit and designed to be eye-catching and invoke curiosity.

Festival merchandise was also developed exclusively as collectibles and for funding a part of the festival.
The support and response from the press and attendants have left us grateful and humbled.
